YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION


My aim for your first visit is to get to know you, your health & wellness concerns, and your goals. I take my time to listen with kindness and respect, encouraging openness and input from you along the way. During this visit you should feel heard and supported.

I will take a thorough health history gathering information about your current health concerns, past medical history, your short and long-term goals, and a complete review of your total health. Areas we will cover during your first visit include:

  • Current health concern(s) (when and how it began, current symptoms, diagnosis - if any, past and current treatments employed, changes over time, impact on quality of life, overall goal)

  • Family medical history

  • Past and current medications/supplements

  • A "Review of Systems", i.e. cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurological, genitourinary, etc.

  • Existing blood and diagnostic test results (a release of records can be arranged or you can bring a copy of results to your first visit)

  • Lifestyle (e.g. drug and alcohol use, exercise, social supports, sources of stress)

This comprehensive gathering of information serves to aid in identifying potential:

  • Undiagnosed diseases

  • Risk factors for diseases

  • Organ and systems functional imbalance

  • Biochemical or hormonal dysfunction

  • Underlying nutrient deficiencies

  • Toxin exposure

  • Lifestyle obstacles to healing

  • Opportunities for optimizing health and well being

Additional testing may be recommended based on your initial assessment and may include:

  • Specific nutrient status (i.e. Vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, Vitamin B12, folic acid)

  • Ovarian reserve and sperm analysis

  • Saliva/urine hormone analysis

  • Food allergy testing

  • Celiac's disease antibodies

  • Thyroid panel

  • Inflammatory markers (CRP)

  • Environmental testing (heavy metals, solvents, organophosphates and chlorinated pesticides, PCBs)

During your initial visit we will discuss treatment strategies to get you going on your path to better health. My goal for you is to help you become informed and empowered patients that goes beyond symptom management.  With the importance of prevention in mind, I work to develop a treatment plan that is comprehensive, safe, attainable, and emphasizes self-care.  Single or a combination of therapies may be used including:
